Turismo en Chile

Chile, with a population of 16 million (annual growth rate 1.2%), is one of Latin America’s most dynamic countries in terms of professional activities and tourism. With free trade agreements signed with USA, China, Australia, the European Community, Korea, Japan, among others, Chile represents a strategic location to visit in Latin America. The country also enjoys some of the world’s most breathtaking landscapes, many of them still untouched by humans. This is a geography of dramatic contrasts that includes deserts, icebergs and a gentle Mediterranean climate, always in view of the snow-capped peaks of the Andes Mountain Range and never too distant from a breathtaking Pacific Ocean.

Chile allows the development of ecotourism, adventure tourism, astronomical tourism, ethno-tourism, rural tourism and cultural tourism.

The geography and culture of Chile, with distinctive characteristics, can also provide a natural environment tailored to each visitor and their personal tastes. Chile offers a wide variety of contrasting landscapes, the main reference areas being the North and Patagonia.

It is also possible to enjoy sun and sea tourism along the vast Chilean coastline which offers complete hotel infrastructure suitable for all budgets.

Also an important factor for winter visitors is the snow and great ski resorts in the Andes Mountain range which are located less than 1 hour away from Santiago and the central zone, and in the south and southern end of Chile. Offering complete infrastructure including hotels, inns and daily transportation to lovers of winter sports such as ski, snowboard, off track, heli-skiing and ski touring. The ski resorts offer equipment rental, ski schools, patrol services and ski tracks of different levels of difficulty in excellent condition. Also, for water sports enthusiasts, Chile offers great places for surfing and kitesurfing.

Chile is internationally acclaimed for the quality of its wines and excellent food, including fresh fruit, vegetables and seafood.
